Ilocos Norte farmers welcome technology exchange with SUCs

Adriano Staff reporter LAOAG CITY—Farmers here welcomed the sharing of ideas and exchange of technologies with state colleges and universities (SUCs) in a national convention of the International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences held September 21-23, 2017.  For three days, agriculture technology experts and researchers from SUCs, small- and medium-industry entrepreneurs, farmers, policy makers and other local officials from various parts of the country gathered at the Teatro Ilocandia in Batac City to discuss and cultivate new ideas geared towards utilization of agriculture innovations for a better quality of life. 4,773 drug users complete rehab in Ilocos Norte

By Leilanie G. Adriano Staff reporter LAOAG CITY—4,773 drug users who surrendered to the police have completed their Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP). Community-based rehabilitation to a drug user is evidence-based interventions the community or local government unit provide to basic support system to them. The CBRP training consists of 13 modules, a drug user needs to complete. Of the total 6,277 individuals who surrendered to the Philippine National Police as of September 30, 2017, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) recorded a total of 4,773 persons who already completed their CBRP training. Provincial social welfare and development officer Corazon Lillian Celia Rin confirmed this on following the October 2 joint Peace and Order Council and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council meeting held at the Capitol auditorium where she provided updates on treatment programs conducted by local government units here from April to September,

Masa masid orientation in Batac City

Batac City government administrator Windell D.
