Over 300 job vacancies available for Ilocos Norte residents

Laoag City—Around 380 local job vacancies await fresh as well as old graduates of Ilocos Norte as more private companies expand their businesses in this booming commercial zone of the north.

Nicole Rudio, Public Employment and Service Office (PESO) head of the Ilocos Norte government said there will be a continuing conduct of mini-job fairs around the province where on-the-spot hiring will be done to successful applicants.

As part of the month-long celebration of the 197th foundation of Ilocos Norte, at least 22 out of the 113 applicants who submitted their resume were hired on-the-spot during the February 2 mini-job fair organized by the provincial government at the ground floor of the La Tabacalera Ilocano Lifestyle Center just across the Ilocos Norte Capitol building in Laoag City.

Some of the most in-demand jobs needed by local companies here include clerical jobs, marketing assistance and service crews.

One of the applicants, Jermith Cindelle Valdez of Brgy. Maglaoi Sur in Currimao, Ilocos Norte said she is thankful for the conduct of mini-job fairs in the province as it provides skills and talents matching to available jobs.

Also, a tourism graduate Jennifer Bisac of Brgy. 14 in Burgos, Ilocos Norte said she is excited to know that there are a lot a job opportunities that await tourism graduates in Ilocos Norte’s growing tourism destination.  

According to Ms. Rudio, more job fairs will be organized soon in support of the Task Force Trabaho program of the Ilocos Norte government. The program is backed by national agencies such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, including public and private companies here and abroad.


For job seekers who were not able to attend the mini- job fairs, the PESO reiterated that applicants may also submit their resumes at www.ilocosnortejobs.ph anytime.
