NFA Ilocos Norte celebrates Women’s Month

Juana's and Juan’s of National Food Authority Ilocos Norte Branch initiated the observance of 2015 National Women's Month Celebration through a hataw sayaw, clean and green program, symposium, refresher on NFA’s Farmers Program, short film viewing activity and simple celebration for the birthday celebrants of the first quarter 2015 held on March 20, 2015 at the Provincial Office, Laoag City.

The said activity was organized in recognition on the great contributions of women around the world. Mrs. Emily A. Corpuz, GAD Female Coordinator/Women’s Club President, together with Ms. Diane Marie G. Agustin, Women’s Club PIO, facilitated the program.

Dr. Beverlyn P. Peralta, Provincial Manager of NFA ILN believes that empowerment of the women especially the employees may bring change not only for themselves but also for  the betterment of everybody by being an inspiration and blessings to others. She emphasized that they are not just to do their roles and obligations as plain housewives or traditional women but rather to fully participate and represent women in all spheres of society. As she used to say every time, "Get out of your comfort zone and explore".

It is bizarre nowadays that a women can do the function or capacity of a men. It is believed that someday somehow, women may rule the world. The NFA ILN Family is lucky to have a lady commanding officer and one of the two female provincial managers in the region.

This may signify that there is a room for gender equality.
