Laoag City—The city government here commended twelve 12 tricycle drivers for their honesty.

The 12 drivers were given certificates of commendation from the city government and signed by Laoag Mayor Chevylle V. FariƱas.

They are Joy Kris Pagcanlungan, Samuel Quimoyog, Efren Ibanez, Dennis Garduque, Adriano Andres, Allan Domingo, Bernard Labao, Gerald Solomon, Thomas Factor, Renato Bautista, Roy Macabiog and Marlon Agcaoili.

Ms. Farinas said they deserve the commendation for their honesty in returning valuable items inadvertently left by passengers in their respective tricycles.

The mayor also allowed the posting of their photos in several areas around the city so they can serve as exemplars for other tricycle drivers.

The mayor disclosed that the commendation for the city’s residents will not be limited to tricycle drivers as they are also looking at other individuals, agencies, establishments and groups that have shown extraordinary feats.

She stressed that to be commended, an individual not necessarily should have a high position in government service or in the private sector but to have shown a way of life that is worth emulating.

Ngem para kaniyak ket tay makita iti taga Laoag a napintas ti ugali na ti amin nga aspeto,” the mayor said.

The tricycle drivers commended returned laptops, cellphones, cameras and cash left in their sidecars to the nearest police outposts and/or at the city’s traffic division.

Dapat lang nga ipulang ko dagiti anyaman a mabati iti tricycle ko ta diak met bagi ken saan ko a nagling-etan iti naigatang kadagitoy tapnu saan met a kakaasi dagiti mapukawan,” Mr. Pagcanlungan explained.

Mr. Pagcanlungan returned a laptop, a cellphone and a camera to their respective owners.
