PGIN strengthens emergency hotline

Laoag City —With Executive Order (E.O) No. 56, series of 2018, dated May 25, 2018, the provincial government of Ilocos Norte strengthened its existing emergency hotline services by making all calls to it free of charge. Dubbed the Ilocos Norte Provincial Incident Response Management (PIRM) 911, PGIN launched it in December 2016 as a centralized hotline ensuring rapid response to accidents and other emergency situations through immediate coordination with the Ilocos Norte Provincial Police Office (INPPO) and other public safety agencies including the Bureau of Fire Protection and provincial hospitals. PIRM 911 operates 24/7 with four landline and mobile phone numbers:   077-600-0948, 077-772-1772, 0999-999-7707, and 0917-109-9911. Trained personnel stationed at the Provincial Capitol handles all calls. Laoag City government donates patrol cars to police

The   Laoag City police holds a simulation exercise (SIMEX) on a hostage crisis incident stemming from an armed robbery. Laoag police officer-in-charge P/Supt. Dominic B. Guerrero led the exercise with supervision from Laoag mayor Chevylle V. Fariñas and the Police Regional Office 1 Red Team  P/Chief Insp . Freddie Evangelista and P/Chief Insp. Claro Pagdilao together with INPPO’s P/Chief Insp. Lauro Milan. The police held the exercise at a pawnshop along Gen. Segundo Ave. corner D. Samonte St. During the exercise, experts trained Laoag police officers on the police’s area of responsibility, the appropriate police response in accordance with law and human rights-based standards, and the procedural rescue operation conduct. They also explained the investigation process of the crime scene. Imee calls for more safety measures at road safety summit

San fernando city , La Union—Ilocos Norte governor Ma. Imelda “Imee” R. Marcos called for closer cooperation and a “hierarchy of control” among government agencies tasked with ensuring road safety in light of recent accidents in the Ilocos Region resulting in several fatalities. Speaking before the Road Safety Summit, Ms. Marcos said: “In many cases, the DPWH [Department of Public Works and Highways] and LGUs [local government units] have been unable to provide adequate safety precautionary measures to prevent accidents and fatalities.” The regional offices of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted the summit at the La Union Provincial Capitol on April 30, 2018. Ilocos Norte retains insurgency-free status

( Berong Ver) By Bernard Ver Contributor Piddig Ilocos Norte—The Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional and Provincial Offices with the Piddig government led by mayor Georgina Salazar-Guillen, consultant Engr. Eddie Guillen and Piddig police officers led by P/Sr. Insp. Jephre Taccad administered the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a new police building in the town on April 5, 2018. Mrs. Salazar-Guillen, in her speech, said that “the LGU is very thankful for the opportunity handed over by the PNP that aims to protect the lives and properties of Piddigeños.” Mr. Guillen, for his part, said that, “It’s a long due, but, the wait is over and we will be having our new police station here.” Also gracing the occasion were P/Chief Supt.
