Education exchange between Hawaii, Ilocos Norte schools looms

By Leilanie G. Adriano Staff reporter LAOAG CITY—A Hawaii-based school is set to visit the province of Ilocos Norte next month for a possible education exchange program. Matilde Neri, head of the Provincial Education Office under the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte confirmed this as representatives from the Farrington High School in Hawaii, United States will be flying to Manila and Ilocos Norte for the proposed Hawaii Philippines Education Exchange Program. Ms. Neri said Manila and the province of Ilocos Norte maintain sisterhood ties in view of the presence of many Filipinos or mostly Ilocanos based in Hawaii. She reported that the Philippine Consulate of Hawaii through Jeffrey de Mesa has sent a letter to Ilocos Norte Governor Ma. Imelda Josefa “Imee” R. Marcos for proper coordination.
