An increase in world prices of agricultural commodities has nuanced impacts:   good for the nation ’ s economy but bad for the poor. Professor German Calfat, an expert on the relationship and nature of trade and national development at the University of Antwerp, shared this conclusion during a seminar-forum organized by state think tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies. His presentation was based on the findings of his research on   Poverty impacts of changes in the price of agricultural commodities: recent evidence for Argentina   ( an ex-ante analysis ). By Dominic B, dela Cruz Staff reporter Dingras , Ilocos Norte—In a move to secure their power supply for the next 20 years, the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) is set to bid out a power contract for the specified period. INEC general manager Engr. Felino Herbert Agdigos said they came to this decision after they were able to identify their long-term plan in the joint competitive procurement for power supply. Mr. Agdigos said there will be bidding to be for all power suppliers who are interested and seven of them have confirmed their interest and participation. They are AES Power, GN Power, SO Power, Meralco Power Gen., FIRST Gen., Global Power and Trans Asia. INEC gave three months for these bidders to submit their requirements for the bid proposals. Mr. Agdigos explained that thru bidding, the lowest cost or price of electricity will automatically win and get the 20-year power supply for INEC. DAPA is the acronym for Deferred Action for Parental Accountability, an amnesty program aka “executive action” announced by President Obama on November 20, 2014 allowing parents of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who have been illegally in the country since before January 1, 2010 to request deferred action from deportation. “Nadapa” in Tagalog means “fell flat on its face.”   On December 16, 2014, Judge Arthur J.
