All 92 Laoag child development centers set for repainting

By Dominic B. dela Cruz,  Staff Reporter LAOAG CITY —The city government of Laoag has expressed its appreciation to Davies Paints Philippines Inc. for supporting the repainting of all 92 Child Development Centers (CDCs) across the city. Laoag councilor Donald Nicolas said the Sangguniang Panlungsod has authorized Laoag Mayor James Bryan Q. Alcid to enter into and sign a tripartite agreement with Liga ng mga Barangay President and ex-officio Sangguniang Panlungsod member Roque Benjamin C. Ablan and Davies Paints Philippines Inc., represented by Vice President for Business Development Engr. Maria Rosario Quintos. Under the proposed agreement, Davies Paints will donate 450 pails of paint valued at PHP1.3 million for the repainting of the city’s 92 CDCs. Researchers, media practitioners push for stronger child-sensitive reporting to improve child protection

Researchers , journalists, broadcasters, and child rights advocates have called for more child-sensitive reporting on issues involving children, stressing the importance of responsible, evidence-based communication in protecting children's rights and welfare. The call was made during the launch of “Ang Bata sa Lente ng Pananaliksik at Midya,” a national webinar series organized by the Philippines Communication Society (PCS) in partnership with the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), and the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT).
