Batac inaugurates new projects

City of Batac—Delivering on its commitment to build safe, resilient and livable communities, the city government here lead the blessing and inauguration of various projects in this city.

On November 10-11, 2020 Batac mayor Albert D Chua, along with Batac vice mayor Windell Chua distributed garlic and onion planting materials and fertilizers.

Aside from the said farming materials, each of the 682 garlic and onion farmers also received 15 kilos garlic bulb, 25 kilos complete fertilizers, 25 kilos sulfate and 1 kilo foliar fertilizer.

On November 15, was the celebration of mayor Chua’s birthday.

A total of 43 computer units were donated by the city government of Batac to DepEd Batac for the Science and Technology Academic and Researched-Based Openly Operated Kiosk System (STARBOOKS) that will be rolled out to the 43 barangays in this city.

The units installed with STARBOOKS will be used by the learners in their respective barangays.

STARBOOKS is a digital stand-alone information source design to bring science and technology information to provide S&T based education and learning resources in various formats in the form of texts, video and audio.

Mayor Chua also led the blessing and inauguration of vehicles for the city government and the barangays; agricultural equipment including grass cutters for rice, rice reaper, hand tractors, electric powered pump and multi-cultivator; community centers at Brgys. Pimentel, Tabug, Parangopong, Biningan, San Pedro, Camandingan, Baoa West, Baoa East and Dariwdiw; water systems at Brgys. Quiom and Baay; and road concreting at Brgy. Sumader, Sitio Pitpitac.   

On November 17, 2020, two school buildings in Batac National High School Rayuray were inaugurated, which was funded by the city government here.

This is a manifestation, according to Mr. Chua, that the city government of Batac continuously supports the city DepEd by providing accessible education to Batacqueño learners.    

On November 18, 2020, Mr. Chua led the distribution of mungbean to 585 farmers with 2 kilos each as an alternative crop this dry season.

According to the city agriculture office, mungbean is a resilient crop which can thrive with a little amount of fertilizer and irrigation.

Free dormitories eyed for Nueva Era students in LC, Batac
