Batac council commends previous members

Batac City—The Sangguniang Panlungsod here unanimously approved a resolution commending all previous members who either termed out or lost in the recent midterm elections.

The council will give certificate of commendations to their previous members, led by former Batac Vice Mayor Jeffrey Jubal Nalupta.

Batac councilor Bismark Angelo A. Quidang, who sponsored the measure, said the previous members deserve the commendation.

“Ta mamati-ak a nagkaadu iti naitulong da iti siyudad iti Batac ket kasapulan met nga ipakita mi iti pinagyaman mi kadakwada aglalo ket daytoy composition mi ita ket nagkaadu iti kabbaro including dagitay nagsubli a padak,” Mr. Quidang said.

Of the current council members, only councilors Jaime Tanagon, Bernardo Marders and Macarthur Aguinaldo were reelected. Other members of the previous council either served out their three-term limit or lost in the midterm elections.

The new council members are councilors Kitchel Jomarie Pungtilan, Giancarlo Angelo Crisostomo and Christopher B. Lagmay; while the returning members are councilors Lucky Bunye, Eugenia Violeta Nalupta, Ramon Gaoat and Bismark Quidang, all of them previously served for three straight terms.

Those set to receive commendations are former councilors Avelard Ibarra Crisostomo, Elmer Pungtilan and Medeldorf Gaoat who all served three straight terms. Councilors Gwynet Quidang, Mary Coleen Cajigal, Joel Garcia and Jed Nalupta, meanwhile did not complete three terms. Mr. Nalupta, for his part ran for his previous post in the May elections and lost to incumbent Batac Mayor Albert D. Chua.

Mr. Quidang said previous councils also passed a similar resolution commending former councilors.

Mr. Quidang also wishes that the former councilors and vice mayor receive the said certificates of commendation in a program or ceremony, “Kas pinangipakita mi met tay pinagyaman ken pinang-raem mi kadakwada a nagbalbalin nga opisyal iti city of Batac.”
