Solsona, Ilocos Norte—The Department of Trade and Industry
unveiled another Negosyo Center to cater to residents of easternmost town of
the province.
This is now the 10th
Negosyo Center in the province, which DTI expects to boost economic growth and
development among its business stakeholders.
Other Negosyo Centers in the
province are located in Laoag, Batac, Burgos, Bacarra, San Nicolas, Badoc, Dingras, Piddig and Banna.
Led by DTI regional director
Florente Leal and Solsona Mayor Alexander Calucag, a simple launching program
and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on September 6, 2018 at the Solsona Public
Market where they established new center.
According to Mr. Leal, it is
the department’s aim “to bring government services closer to its people” and
one way of doing so is to establish more Negosyo Centers in the Philippines.
Under the Go Negosyo Act,
micro, small and medium enterprises will have a better ease of doing business
when a Negosyo Center is just within their reach.
Instead of going to the
nearest DTI office, the center features a one-stop-shop for business
enthusiasts to process their business registration, seek business advisory
services, provide business information and advocacy; and monitoring and
evaluation of business-process improvement.
Once a Negosyo Center is in
place in a certain community, a local business person may no longer need to
line up or go to the nearest DTI office to have his/her business registered and
wait for days to process the registration process.
Based on experience, Alma
Gaoiran, a sari-sari store owner in Burgos, Ilocos Norte said it takes only
about five minutes to register a business at the Negosyo Center.
“This a big relief for us as
we no longer need to spend money for transport and take extra effort to process
our business requirements. We also have a chance to attend business counseling
and seminars to improve our business with DTI personnel,” said Ms. Gaoiran.
