Batac, Laoag recognize those who help in pandemic response

Batac City—Living up to the concept of “bayanihan”, the city governments of Batac and Laoag recognized individuals, non-government organizations, government organizations, business establishments and others who extended their assistance to their respective constituents during the start of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Batac Mayor Albert D. Chua, along with the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Batac Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua personally handed over certificates of recognition to 39 awardees on June 29, 2020 at the SP session hall here.

The Batac government acknowledged with profound gratitude the outpouring manifestations of concern demonstrated by the awardees through the delivery of relief assistance in various forms in this time of state health emergency.

Mr. Chua personally tanked all the people who extended their help which only shows that the bayanihan spirit is still in the heart of Filipinos, particularly Ilocanos in the spirit of communal unity, work and cooperation to fight the crisis.

He stressed that the Batacqueños “indeed, did their part in helping one another, especially those who are in need in time of crisis”.

In Laoag City, Mayor Michael M. Keon personally handed plaques of recognitions to “55 Inspiring Heroes: Rays of Sunshine in the time of Pandemic”.

The awarding was held in three batches on June 29, 30 and July 1 at the office of the mayor for social distancing reasons.

Keon thanked all the recipients for their contributions with the Laoagueños hoping that they will serve as role models and inspiration the next generations for a continuing “Baro a Laoag”.

Free dormitories eyed for Nueva Era students in LC, Batac
