6th most wanted person in Ilocos Norte falls

Laoag City—After almost a decade, Kimberly Agapay alias “Ampopoy”, single and a resident of Brgy. Barangobong in Nueva Era was finally arrested by police operatives on June 16 in a rented house at Brgy. Magsaysay in Alicia, Isabela province.

Mr. Agapay has been listed as number six in the provincial anti-partisan armed group task force under the Ilocos Norte’s most wanted persons involved in various shooting incidents. He was the prime suspect in three murder cases involving barangay officials and is the youngest of the Agapay brothers who are suspected to be involved in gun-for-hire operations in the province.

By virtue of different warrants of arrest issued by different courts in Ilocos Norte, operatives of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO)-Intelligence branch found the suspect hiding in Isabela province.

On June 18, acting police provincial director Albert Ocon, along with several police escorts presented Mr. Agapay to Ilocos Norte Governor Ma. Imelda “Imee” R. Marcos at the Provincial Capitol. He, however, declined to be interviews.

Of the 23 most wanted persons in Ilocos Norte, he is now the third arrested this year. Mr. Agapay’s arrest carried a bounty of P110,000.

Ms. Marcos lauded the police for the arrest of another most wanted person here as she expressed her desire to totally catch all the most wanted persons in Ilocos Norte.

In view of this, the police has encouraged the public to report whatever information that may have to help them in investigating leads.
