Gift giving project

More than 40 patients of Gov. Roque B. Ablan, Sr. Memorial Hospital (GRBASMH) received gifts from the different branches of Philippine National Bank (PNB) in Ilocos Norte.

As part of their annual gift giving project, the Laoag, Laoag-Castro, Batac and Pasuquin branches of PNB distributed packages containing baby soaps, baby powder, baby oil, diapers, tissue papers and health products.

The beneficiaries were charity patients of the maternity and pediatrics wards recommended by Dr. Roger Braceros, chief of hospital, and the social welfare representative of GRBASMH.

The annual gift giving, which is now in its 11th year, was led by Ms. Christine Marie M. Rillera, senior assistant vice president of PNB.

Meanwhile, PNB Laoag, headed by branch manager Maria Goretti Paz V. Guerrero, held an outreach program at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Laoag City.

More than 250 residents of BJMP Laoag were given free rice, grocery products and toiletries.

DAR PROJECTS: The provincial office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Ilocos Norte has recently conducted more training on Agri-Extension Services (AES) and Business Development Services (BDS) to hundreds of farmers in the province.

Engr. Vic M. Ines, OIC Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II, said these projects were conducted to improve rice production through the introduction of modern farm technologies.

 “We established demonstration farms in Piddig, Burgos and Currimao where we held the training and workshops to the farmers,” he disclosed.

He added that the participants in the BDS training were instructed on policy formulation, marketing and business management.

The AES and BDS training were conducted by the Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD) and implemented under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS).

Free dormitories eyed for Nueva Era students in LC, Batac
