All Ilocos Norte government employees who reached 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years in service respectively received the Length of Service Awards.

CSC provincial director Atty. Rex Ami said the awardees received the certificate of Length of Service. In the agency level, cash awards of PHP10,000 came with those who had 10 years of service, with an additional PHP5,000 for every five years more of service.

In line with this, Batac City councilor Angelo Bismark Quidang shared his experience for not receiving yet this kind of award even if he is now his 17th   year of public service in the Batac government.

He disclosed further that in his 17 years of service, he has not yet recommended for the said award.

Mr. Quidang learned that Batac City councilor Violeta Daradar-Nalupta was awarded the same recently for her 15 years of public service.

Batac councilor Dr. Ramon Gaoat also felt the same sentiment because he has been in public service for 23 years.

Dr. Gaoat requested the office concerned to look into this matter.

Batac Vice Mayor Atty. Windell D. Chua referred the predicaments of the two city councilors to the committee on civil service and laws.

Meanwhile, Philippine Councilors League-Ilocos Norte president Handy Lao welcomed the sentiments of the two Batac as he said he will include this in the agenda for the PCL meeting.

Other than the proposed Length of Service Award, municipal/city councilor who finished their three terms and who stepped into a higher position also receives a plaque of recognition.

Mr. Ami, for his part said, city/municipal councilors also deserve to receive the Length of Service Award starting from 15 years and 5 years thereafter.
