City—Mayor Albert D. Chua disclosed that their
executive-legislative agenda (ELA) next year will focus more on health,
education, but most especially on environment.
Mr. Chua stressed that
environment encompasses reforestation, dredging, irrigation, waste management,
water treatment, and garbage collection among others.
He revealed that they are now
on the planning stage on the conversion of the current dumpsite into a sanitary
landfill. But while they are still on this stage, the mayor said they are doing
their best about garbage collection.
He said they are now strictly
implementing garbage segregation with a schedule on what type will be picked
up.
With this, Mr. Chua asked
barangay officials here to help in the implementation of waste segregation. He
stressed that this should start in all officials’ households.
On the health front, Mr. Chua
said they will formally open the lying-in clinic soon. He said they are
currently filling up staff and personnel, as well as medical equipment for the
said clinic.
To further understand and
know the needs of his constituents, Mr. Chua said he will continually visit
barangays here. He said this would be a house-to-house visit so he can
personally learn what the people need.
The visits would also afford
him the chance to observe ongoing projects.
