1. Everyday ask your child
about his play, activities and problems in school.
2. Consult his teacher regarding his progress.
3. Familiarize your child with the best in literature, television and
other recreations.
4. Know your child’s associates and the places they frequent on weekends.
5. Have realistic ideals for your child. Respect and develop his talents.
6. Talk to your child heart to heart. Your talk will be effective if you
are his best example of what you like him to be.
7. The parents should prepare the schedule for watching television.
Fridays, Saturdays and holidays are preferred when all the members of the
family may watch together.
8. Observe changes in your child’s appearance, interest, attitude and
emotions.
9. Quiz your child before he takes tests or before he enters contests and
other competitive events.
10. Teach your child the art of self-control, the beauty of inner virtue,
the honor of patriotic service, and the social graces of refined people.
11. Check your child’s homework and assignments. Encourage him to follow
your suggestions.
12. Always say, “I love you” to your child.
13. Embrace zealously the privilege of rearing your child in the image of
God.
