La Union honors 10 outstanding cops

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO—Ten police personnel of La Union were named “Outstanding Policemen” after they won in a province wide search initiated by the Provincial Government of La Union.

The awardees highlighted the culmination ceremony of the National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) held at the Concord Building in Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) on September 6.

Police Supt. Raymund D.C. Calano was adjudged as Outstanding Police Officer for Health Service Category; P/Supt. Eudardo L. Danguecan for Intelligence Category; P/Chief Insp. Marlon D. Paiste for Special Operations; P/Chief Insp. Artemio C. Infante in the field of Investigation; P/Sr. Insp. Rogelio B. Miedes in Anti- Narcotics and P/Sr. Insp. Christian Joy Q. Alqueza for Criminalistics Category.

Senior Police Officer 1 Liela Mariecres B. Arellano won in Administrative Management category; SPO1 Nieva Liza C. Castro in Human Resource Development; Police Office 3 Lani E. Peralta for Police Community Relations and PO3 Ritchie M. Fabian for Traffic Management.

The said search for “Ten Outstanding Policemen in the Province of La Union” (TOPPLU) was initiated by the Provincial Government as their way of expression and appreciation of the police’s commitment in maintaining peace and order in La Union.

In Ordinance No. 025-2012 authored by Hon. Joaquin C. Ostrea Jr., the TOPPLU Award was created in view of the desire of the Provincial Government of La Union to recognize the best cops in the province.

Police Chief Superintendent Ricardo C. Marquez, Regional Director of PRO1 congratulated the awardees and told them to continue their service with dignity and professionalism and serve as model police of the PNP organization. He likewise expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government of La Union for such recognition they accorded to the members of La Union Police.

“We are very thankful for giving award and credit to our policemen. Magsisilbi itong inspirasyon ng ating kapulisan sa kanilang pagseserbisyo. I hope this can also be done in other provinces of the region,” Marquez added.


The winners received a Plaque of Recognition and cash prizes amounting to P5,000 each.

Free dormitories eyed for Nueva Era students in LC, Batac
