Worldbex
Services International holds the 19th Philippine World Building and
Construction Expo from 10am to 8pm on March 12 to 16 at the World Trade Center
Manila
Manila,
Philippines—Recognizing the construction industry’s need to increase market
scope and sales growth as well as a platform for the high-grade exchange of
global industry trends, industry veteran and founding chairman Joseph L. Ang
launched the first-of-its-kind, Philippine World Building and Construction
Exposition or WORLDBEX. Breaking records and defying the scale of typical trade
shows held in the Philippines, Worldbex Services International (WSI) was borne
out of the success that WORLDBEX solicited.
For over two decades now, the Philippine
World Building and Construction Exposition or WORLDBEX has been a pillar of the
construction industry in which it serves as a primary source of the latest
innovative products, a venue to network among local and international trade
players, a means to follow the most recent industry reports through a series of
seminars, as well as to witness live demonstrations of ground-breaking
technologies.
Emerging with even bolder aspirations, the
19th WORLDBEX is slated to be held from 10am to 8pm on March 12 to
16, and is poised to be hailed as the biggest expo in the country as it
occupies the joint venues of World Trade Center Manila and The Philippine Trade
Training Center – taking up over 30,000sqm of exhibit space. To ensure utmost
accessibility, free shuttles, business lounge, and additional parking slots
will be widely available during the five-day event.
Highly-anticipated and nothing short of
exceptional, last year’s WORLDBEX garnered record-breaking success with over
158,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors from here and abroad. Frequenting WORLDBEX
is a healthy mix of visitors including architects, direct buyer-end users,
contractors, distributors, developers, dealer-agents, purchasers, importers and
exporters, interior designers, IT-IS specialists, marketing and sales
representatives, consultants, and more.
Resilience
as key to evolution
This
year, WORLDBEX is poised to break new grounds and open up possibilities as it
explores the theme of “Connecting the World through Resilient Construction.”
Urged by the alarming realities faced by the world as it experiences rapid
environmental changes brought on by global warming, the 19th
WORLDBEX decidedly focuses on resilient building.
Revealing itself to be a necessity,
WORLDBEX will showcase and highlight innovations with the foremost intent of
designing buildings, landscapes, communities, and regions in direct response
and preparedness against disaster.
Through the series of booths and
activities, WORLDBEX aims to increase awareness among the local construction
industry through a dynamic exchange of knowledge and trade information about
resilient construction and its significance in preventing the disruption of
normal life caused by natural and man-made disasters.
Geared
towards progress
Bent
on sustaining its impact, WORLDBEX strives to provide a multi-faceted
experience for the building and construction industry through numerous
pavilions divided into categories such as the Italian Pavilion by the Italian
Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Inc. which will showcase the latest
building and construction products, as well as equipments from its country.
Most notably, the International Pavilion
which features the latest building construction products from foreign countries
and so much more comprises 30% of WORLDBEX as more and more global companies
come to participate – attracting local distributors, dealers, and so on. The
foreign pavilions will see participants from USA, China, Italy, Singapore,
Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea, Switzerland, India, Thailand, and Austria.
For a sneak peek of the works of top real
estate developers, architects and distinct interior designers, one can head to
the Developer’s Gallery as well as the Architects and Interior Designer’s
Gallery. Art enthusiasts and collectors will delight in the Contemporary Art
Pavilion to be mounted by Secret Fresh Gallery.
WORLDBEX also prides in the
hotly-anticipated 16th Worldbex seminars which will feature both
local and foreign speakers such as Architect Felino Palafox, Allen Folks, and
Mink Tan among others who will touch on topics including Urbanity and the New
Asia, Crafting an Icon out of our Unique Asian Heritage, and Smart Cities of
the Future: Urban Planning, Architecture and Engineering to address Climate
Change and Global Warming.
Putting a premium on art and design,
WORLDBEX will conduct the best booth design competition alongside Obra Maestra,
an interior design competition where students from top universities and
colleges compete for the most outstanding design concepts. Now running on its
third year, this year’s competition will give out P20,000 for the participants
and P10,000 for the Department of the School of the Runner-up, and P40,000 for
the participants and P20,000 for the Department of the School of the Grand
Winner. A People’s Choice Award will also be bestowed to the participant with
the highest number of votes on the WSI Facebook Fanpage.
Nurturing
the industry
There
is truly no stopping WSI in ensuring that each production is maximized to its
fullest potential. With that said, WORLDBEX has a lot more in-store with other
highlight programs including the Seminar on Consumer Protection, Policies and
Trends Affecting Construction Quality and Safety by the Construction Industry
Authority of the Philippines (CIAP), the Project First Home book launch hosted
by Angel Jacob and Gabe Mercado. The 16th WORLDBEX Seminars, the
BluPrint Avid Awards, hosted by One Mega Group, and the SoFa Interactive Seminar: Expressing Filipino Identity through Design
by Toby Guggenheimer.
Apart from its extensive array of
exhibitors, WORLDBEX aims to be a venue for industry players to network among
themselves and make business to business transactions and growth within reach,
which is the core philosophy of WSI. As such, WORLDBEX will offer the Business
Matching Service, an onsite service that facilitates actual business matching
services to help trade professionals to identify their needs.
