Calayab lass is Ms ABC 2014

AN 18-YEAR old student from Barangay Calayab here in Laoag City was crowned Ms ABC (Association of Barangay Councils) 2014 on February 4 at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena.

Precious Camille Bucad, a third year accounting student at the Northwestern University, outshone 14 other bets to win the beauty title.

The 5-foot-2 young lady said she did not expect to win as she thought the other candidates are also beautiful and witty.

Nevertheless, she thanked her family, friends and all those who supported her in the pageant,

Bucad revealed that aside from becoming a certified public accountant (CPA), she also plans to try performing at a theatre.

Aside from being crowned Ms ABC 2014, the Calayab charmer was also named Ms Charity as well as being named as Best in Evening Gown, Best in Poise, Most Articulate. She also won the Miss Smart corporate award.

Other winners of the pageant are Lizelle Angelie Mae Pascua, first runner-up; Nivea Saniata Asuncion, second runner-up; Jazrelle Mae Caldito, third runner-up and Leizelyn Apple Ferrer, fifth runner up.

Pascua also won the Most Energetic, Most Charming, Best in Swimsuit and Best in Talent minor awards as well as the Miss Casino Filipino and Miss Vertex corporate awards,

Asuncion, on the other hand won Best in Talent 2nd runner-up and Miss Eskinol.

Caldito was named Miss Photogenic 1st runner-up while Ferrer was chosen as the Darling of the Press.

Winners of other awards were Thea Mae Velasco, Miss Photogenic and Miss Sun Cellular; Abbygale Baclig, Miss Beauty All Over and Miss Black and White; Krizelle Valdez, Miss Role Model; Harlene Bangi, Miss Friendship; and Dessa Duque as Best Performer during their production number. 

Ms ABC is a competition of young, beautiful and talented ladies of the city of Laoag.

The Miss ABC winner and the first and second runners-up automatically represent the said association for the Miss Laoag City International Quest next year provided they pass the screening with and the 5’5” height requirement.

Laoag ABC President Mary Michelle Louise “Mikee” V. Fariñas congratulated all the candidates, especially the winners for giving their best during the pageant.

She likewise thanked all her fellow barangay chairpersons for their full support from the start up to the Miss ABC proper.

Laoag Vice Mayor Michael V. Fariñas, a former ABC president himself, also gave his message congratulating the ABC for a job well done.

Laoag Mayor Chevylle V. Fariñas also thanked the ABC staff and the 80 barangay chairpersons for a very unique and successful Miss ABC 2014.

Ilocos Norte Gov. Ma. Imelda “Imee” R. Marcos, who served as the crowning guest, also lauded all the city officials, barangay chairpersons and the city of Laoag as a whole for a beautiful and a joyous fiesta celebration.


Eat Bulaga Super Sireyna grand winner known as Kim Chu, several balikbayan guests and respected national and local guests served as judges for the pageant.
