Batac
City—The Sangguniang Panlungsod here
unanimously passed the budget ordinance for 2016.
The budget, totaling P440,
810, 610.68, was passed during a special session held on March 2.
The said ordinance will still
need approval from Batac Mayor Jeffrey Jubal Nalupta after which it would be
transmitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for review.
With 2016 already three
months old, the Batac government has been making do with a reenacted budget.
The approved 2016 budget saw
an increase of at least P33 million from last year’s budget. Last year’s budget
was P407,689,319.80
During the budget
deliberation, it was shown that the city government has achieved the biggest
business tax collection with P27.2 million. The real property tax collection
was pegged at P7.5 million.
The total collection from
local sources is P64,251,000.
For the external sources,
Batac’s shares from the national government, the excise tax and the Philippines
Gaming Corp. and Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office is P343,090,481.
Income from the Batac public
market totals P26,110,000 while the slaughterhouse yields an income of
P5,120,00.
Batac Vice Mayor and council
presiding officer Ronald Allan M. Nalupta said they conducted as series of
regular session to accommodate member of the local finance committee and
department heads to defend their respective budgets.
