ICT in Batac City

Contributor

“When the going gets tough, only the tough gets going.” This adage seems too old but not to the newly born City Schools Division of Batac with the able leadership of superintendent Vilma D. Eda, this is apt.

Obvious as it may appear, the world we have today is immersed with technology and advancements. Everything keeps developing and these changes continue to fascinate people all over the globe. Whether we like it or not, it poses a big challenge to education. Each learner is exposed to a battleground waiting for great trainers to prepare them to be good warriors ready for the warfare in the outside world.

Hence, the newbie division empowered its “army” through the launching of ICT trainings for the teachers both in the elementary and secondary. With the belief that they cannot give what they do not have, the teachers enthusiastically attended various trainings just like the basics of using computer, integrating and enhancing the use of ICT in teaching and learning.

Old or young teachers alike, left the traditional mode of teaching and said “yes” to the innovative and modern ways of teaching and learning. Since this generation is techno-savvy, pupils are now encouraged to bring their gadgets like cellphones, tablets, laptop and the like as they utilize it in the interactive activities on the web and as they do or submit their outputs, requirements, projects or assignments. Teachers do not depend on the blackboard, chalk and books alone but to projectors, laptops and Wi-Fi connections which serve as their instrument in entering the net world and look for various sources to share with their clienteles for best results in learning.

Greatness knows no age. The City Schools Division of Batac proves its worth to be a tough sailing ship geared towards giving a quality and up-to-date education amidst all waves of difficulties that comes its way. Learning, in order to be effective should go with the flow of time and within the line of interests of the learners.
