Imelda “Imee” R. Marcos to motivate and inspire other students to excel in their chosen field of endeavor.

“The achievement of our scholars only shows that they deserved their scholarship and we are proud of them,” Gudoy said.

Aside from the recognition, Gudoy said the provincial government is also offering job assistance for new graduates.

“We will try to assist them to find work because we also want them to land a better job after graduation,” he said.

At present, the Ilocos Norte government has less than 300 college scholars and officials are planning to expand the number to 1,000 scholars this coming schoolyear.

Aside from academic scholars, the provincial government is also pushing for the scholarship grants of students who excel in extracurricular activities.

A provincial government scholar should maintain an average grade of 2.25 and receives a monthly stipend and book allowance.
