For a more efficient, faster and secured filling of your liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), at least eight units of digital auto filler, the first in northwest Luzon was launched on October 16 by Northland Gas Corporation, exclusive dealer of Fiesta Gas here.

Imported from Seoul, South Korea, DS 200S manufactured by Dae Sung Mechaton Co. Ltd. is a computerized program machine that configures exact refill of gas tank in less than a minute.

Engr. John Pelaez of FARR Tierra Autogaz said each unit cost P280,000 and has a rated capacity of 800 kilograms per hour.

Compared to the conventional way of refilling LPG, the digital auto filler features a user-friendly, easy to calibrate and explosion-proof machine that doubles the efficiency of a traditional refilling machine.

“The refilling process of the machine is more efficient, you can easily configure it with a computer and it is very transparent to clients because of our zero tolerance program,” said Pelaez.

“We are here and we are serious to do business—no less, it’s just right,” said Manny Luis, managing director of the NGC after upgrading his refilling plant with a state-of-the-art digital auto filler.

By upgrading the facility, he hopes that the sale of illegally refilled LPG tanks will soon be avoided. He assured clients, there will be enough supply of LPG here.

Marcos town celebrates 3rd Pinakbet Festival

MARCOS, Ilocos Norte—Taking pride of this town ’s favorite Ilo cano dish, locally known as pinakbet, a mix of indigenous vegetables steamed in fish sauce, residents here ushered the opening of the third Pinakbet festival. “Pinakbet” came from the contracted Ilokano word ‘pinakebbet ’ which means “ shrunk ” or “shriveled.” As a way of thanksgiving, the Pinakbet festival is a repository of the town ’ s “ani” [harvest] festival being celebrated every month of March but this was later moved to December to accommodate more balikbayans wanting to join the festivity. Residents in this agricultural town derived most of their income from the harvest of high value crops, including rice, tobacco and corn as staple crops. This year, the week-long festivity highlighted a grand parade around the town plaza and a pinakbet cook fest at the municipal gymnasium to showcase the best pinakbet in town. A boodle fight followed suit. Earlier, a fun run was participated by various groups ...
