Ilocos ‘Night Express’ picking up

Laoag City—More and more Ilocanos and tourists are taking advantage of the extended night trips currently being pilot-tested in the province with at least four prime tourist destinations here.

Assigned checkers from the Provincial Tourism Office who are monitoring the number of night passengers said hundreds of commuters mostly students and several foreign and local tourists are benefitting from this project.

Since March 6, the Metro Ilocos Norte Council has introduced four specific routes of extended night trips from Laoag City all the way to Pagudpud, Dingras and Paoay and vice versa every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Located at the western Provincial Capitol parking area as its central terminal equipped with waiting chairs and movable shades, late night commuters can now avail of this new night express service with the same fare during the day. Comfort rooms are also available at the back of the Capitol compound.

Departure times to Laoag City from the pilot destinations are the following:

Pagudpud (Terminal: In front of Municipal Hall): 9:45PM, 10:45PM, 11:45PM, 12:45AM;

Bacarra (Terminal: In front of Municipal Hall): 8:45PM, 9:45PM, 10:45PM, 11:45PM

Batac-Paoay (Terminal: In front of Paoay Police Action Center): 9:00PM, 10:00PM, 11:00PM, 12:00AM

Dingras (Terminal: In Front of Municipal Hall): 9:00PM, 10:00PM, 11:00PM, 12:00AM.


For a period of six months—from March 6 to August 31, 2015—commuters will enjoy standard fares while the project organizer try to improve the transport system in the province.

Free dormitories eyed for Nueva Era students in LC, Batac
