Laoag City police seizes alleged shabu

Laoag City—Elements of the city’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (CAIDSOTF) led by Laoag police chief P/Supt. Jeffrey T. Gorospe seized suspected shabu and ammunitions in a search warrant operation.

The operation, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), was in conjunction with search warrant No. 44-2014 dated Nov. 18, 2014 issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 13 Presiding Judge Philip Salvador for the residence of Teddy Mandac, 45 years old, married and a resident of Brgy, 2 here in Laoag City.

The team seized inside Mr. Mandac’s residence the following: 5 pieces heat-sealed plastic sachets containing alleged shabu wrapped in electric tape; 8 pieces of assorted lighters; 2 pieces heat-sealed plastic sachets containing alleged shabu placed in plastic sachets; 1 eyeglass plastic case containing 13 live ammunitions for cal. 40; 2 live ammunitions for cal. 38; 1 live ammunitions for cal. 45; 1 empty shell for cal. 9mm; 1 ammunition for cal. 5.56mm and 1 live ammunition for cal. 7.62mm.

Also confiscated were 1 green coin purse containing 1 big heat-sealed plastic sachet containing alleged shabu; 1 improvised glass tube tooter with alleged shabu residue; pack of empty plastic sachets; 4-cut rolled aluminum foils and list of names of alleged customers.

Prior to the implementation of the search warrant, 2 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing alleged shabu; 1 disposable lighter marked “Pinguo” and 1 Cherry Mobile (yellow) were also confiscated from the control, possession and custody of one Ronan Duldulao, 45 years old, single and a resident of Barangay 3, Laoag City who tried to evade the team during the implementation of the search warrant operation on Mr. Mandac.

The search warrant operation was conducted in the presence of barangay kagawad Michelle Jacinto and Rudy Ventura and representatives of the local tri-media.


The suspects along with the seized items were brought to the city police station for documentation preparatory to the filing of appropriate charges against Mr. Mandac in court.
