PRC to conduct another mobile service in Laoag

Due to INSISTMENT demand, the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) based in Baguio City will be rolling back its services again to Laoag City on March 25 to serve a greater number of Ilocanos in need of their services.

Nicole Rudio, head of the Provincial Employment Services Office at the Provincial Capitol announced on March 6 that the PRC team is now gearing up for its second visit to Laoag City following its first outreach  mobile service in this city on February 7.

For those who took the recent Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), Rudio said the result would be available by March 8. As a result, new LET passers from Ilocos Norte may now apply for license during the PRC mobile outreach program at the La Tabacalera Function Hall here in Laoag City.

She added that even those who are planning take the board examination for nursing on March 28 may now apply for the examination.

In view of the PRC’s thrust to bring government services closer to people, the PRC is extending its mobile outreach services in partnership with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte.

Last month, at least 2,742 professionals were assisted by the PRC when they visited Laoag City.


Among the mobile services include: application for examination, initial registration of license, renewal of professional ID card, renewal of PIC with change of status, authentication of documents, certification of board ratings and passing, released of professional ID license cards, released of certificates of registrations, released of certification of board ratings and passing and red ribbon documents.

Marcos town celebrates 3rd Pinakbet Festival

MARCOS, Ilocos Norte—Taking pride of this town ’s favorite Ilo cano dish, locally known as pinakbet, a mix of indigenous vegetables steamed in fish sauce, residents here ushered the opening of the third Pinakbet festival. “Pinakbet” came from the contracted Ilokano word ‘pinakebbet ’ which means “ shrunk ” or “shriveled.” As a way of thanksgiving, the Pinakbet festival is a repository of the town ’ s “ani” [harvest] festival being celebrated every month of March but this was later moved to December to accommodate more balikbayans wanting to join the festivity.
