The Zonta International as a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy, continues to reach out, touch lives and change communities.

The Zonta Club of Ilocos Norte marked another milestone in its history as it holds its 20th Induction Ceremony of the Officers, board of directors and new members, 2014-2016. This remarkable event was beautifully done at the Pacific Function Hall, Floor Pacific Building Laoag City on September 3, 2014. As this was well-planned, organized and prepared, it was spontaneous, exciting and it brought about a distinct feeling of fulfillment, sense of pride for a job well done for the previous biennium, and providing a very good insight and inspiration to do and achieve more for 2014-2016.

The theme for biennium 2014-2016 is capsulized as the three P’s — “Purpose, Pledge, and Pro-Active”. The purpose is to uphold the Zonta goals, the pledge is to advance the status of women, and pro-active by aiming to widen our reach to increase membership. All the programs and projects will reflect this big theme.

The Area 4 Director, 2014-2016, Ztn. Mila C. Lauigan set the hearts and minds of the new officers and board of directors on their duties and responsibilities as she installed them to their offices. A resounding applause responded to their acceptance as they clearly said their “I do’s”. The smooth transfer of leadership and responsibilities by the outgoing and incoming presidents was done meaningfully making sure Zonta has to continue on with what it lives for.

Everyone was extremely happy as Ztn. Marsha Leoncia M. Aoigan, in her Valedictory Address, presented a rundown of the laudable accomplishments of the club under her strong leadership, and owing to the wonderful display of the support and cooperation of all the members. She expressed her heartfelt thanks for the club’s splendid performance. Inspired and challenged by the achievements of the previous biennium, the new president, Ztn. Rizalina T. Chua, in her Inaugural Address, she gave her sincere assurance to lead the club to her level best that will bring about a sustained full support and cooperation of all the members. She optimistically sees the biennium to be a wonderful time of working together, experiencing together, and giving out much love, following what Mahatma Gandhi, her source of inspiration, once said, “The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

To conclude the Induction Ceremony was the message of the Guest of Honor and Speaker, District Governor of District 17, 2014-2016, the lovely Lalivan Karnchanachari. Her speech strongly touched every member when she underscored the noble mission of Zonta International, the massive work of helping uplift life through service to others specially the women, children and the needy. Her message of appreciation was expressed in a very unique way when she said, Zonta Ilocos Norte’s identity is their incomparable dedication and commitment to what Zonta aims and stands for.

This significant occasion came up with high hopes for more and bigger accomplishments not only for the biennium 2014-2016 but even beyond. It has been an affair to remember leaving a great promise for Zonta — Ilocos Norte to realize or make it happen.

Long live and God Bless Zonta, International!!!
