Amado I. Yoro
Ewa, Hawaii

Basbassit dakdakkel ti tirad ti sudsodna
Nga agmula iti bukel ti saluyot

Basbassit dakdakkel ti murdong ti plumana
Nga agabel ken mangsikog ti balikasna

Maymaysa la ketdi ti panggepda
Agpaadu ken agiwaras !

Sika a tawataw wenno alla-alla
Ti init

Sika a kartapilus a saluyot
Iti nagkattukong
Kawesmo abel-Iluko
Dagiti natibbi a kapas
Iti nagbagbagan

Imulam, wen, imulam
Dayta ti bukel ti saluyot
Uray iti arubayam

Itukitmo nga itukit
Ti bin-i nga inggapum
Idiay Ilokos
Iti amianan a kasaluyotan
Tagibiem, wen, tagibiem ala
Saanmo a sardayan a kibinen
Uray mangket maminribu
A maidugmamka iti tapok iti daga
[uray kutkotem pay ketdin ti baak
a bin-im uray narpekan iti pinnullo
a panagani, bareng no saan a naipes.
Namangket yakayakem ti napalabas
Ti panagrupsa ti lasag ken daga a nagtabonan
Ti napalabas, kamatem ti angin
annadam la a maitublakka manen]

Ngem kumpetka latta iti tumeng
Iti ibabangon ket ala, magnaka
Latta a di agressat
Sika-siak: tumengan nga Ilokano.

Residents in this agricultural town derived most of their income from the harvest of high value crops, including rice, tobacco and corn as staple crops. This year, the week-long festivity highlighted a grand parade around the town plaza and a pinakbet cook fest at the municipal gymnasium to showcase the best pinakbet in town. A boodle fight followed suit. Earlier, a fun run was participated by various groups ...
